Menswear Weekend Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Weekend Red Carpet Roundup

Simu Liu

Here is a menswear roundup post from this weekend, which will also serve a reminder to you all to get thinking about your Best Dressed Man Of The Year and Best Menswear Looks Of The Year, as the polls will be going up this week.

I must start with Simu Liu, who has been one of my personal favourite newcomers this year.

He joinedSandra Oh on the red carpet for the 2021 Unforgettable Gala, where he received the Breakout Actor in Film Award wearing a Dzojchen crimson cashmere three-piece suit.

This is not his first monochromatic moment.

Simu attended the ‘Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings’ London premiere wearing a maroon look from head-to-toe.

The only difference with this look, is that he didn’t match his shoes to his suit, but the buttons help tie everything together nicely.

Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey joined a host of ladies on the red carpet for the ‘Sing 2’ LA premiere.

It was a very well-dressed line-up, but Matthew let the side down in this custom Dolce & Gabbana suit.

I like this nutmeg colour, but not on Matthew as it almost feels too close to this skin tone.

And the suit itself lacks that Dolce sharpness I’m so used to seeing.  I’m not sure if it’s the fit or the fabric, but I’m really underwhelmed.

Also, the black silk shirt and nutmeg suit colour combination isn’t working for me.

Tye Sheridan

‘Tis the season to wear turtlenecks, but if you’re Leslie Odom Jr., the season is awards season.

I love the combination of blues here, as Tye Sheridan wore a Prada suit, with a light blue mohair turtleneck sweater for ‘The Tender Bar’ premiere.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II kick started the promo tour for ‘The Matrix Resurrections’ looking ever so handsome wearing a Bottega Veneta suit made of the most luxurious fabrics.

Bottega Veneta boots completed his look.
